Hi Teacher~ 정명진입니다. 영화, 좋아하시나요? 가끔 외국영화들 보면, 정말 좋은 명언 나오죠. 들을 땐 알겠는데, 막상 사용하려고 하면 쉽게 떠오르지 않습니다. 오늘 저 그리고 필리핀 선생님과 함께 영화속 명언을 한 번 배워보죠!

Jung Oh, teacher you sound sad again, what’s wrong this time? (오 선생님, 선생님 또 슬퍼보이시네요. 이번에는 또 무슨 일이세요?)

Mark Well You know what, Mr. Jung? Since I was a child, I wanted to become an actor. It’s really my dream. (음, 그거 알아? 내가 어렸을 때 배우가 되고 싶었어. 그건 정말 내 꿈이었지.)

Mark Oh, I don’t think so. Yesterday, I watched a movie. It was really nice and the movie script was also great. It’s making me feel really sad. It’s too late for me. (아냐 그렇게 생각하지 않아. 어제 내가 영화를 봤어. 정말 멋지고 영화 시나리오도 정말 좋더라. 그런데 영화가 날 너무 슬프게 했어. 내가 배우가 되기에는 너무 늦었어.)

Jung I see but “late is better than never” did you know this expression? (그러셨군요. 하지만 ‘하지 않는 것 보다 늦는 게 낫다.’ 라는 말이 있잖아요. 아시죠?)
Mark Yeah that is a good expression Mr. Jung. anyway, that sounds like a line from the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button? Have you seen the movie? (맞아 좋은 문구지. ‘벤자민 버튼의 시간은 거꾸로 간다.’라는 영화에 나오는 대사 같아. 본 적 있어?)

Jung Hmm... The Curious Case of Benjamin Button? No, I didn’t watch it. Why? Is it a good movie? It has a very long movie name. (아뇨 처음 들어봐요. 왜요? 좋은 영화인가요? 영화 제목이 엄청 기네요.)

Mark Yes, the movie is good and has a long title. It’s better to say “title” than saying movie name. (좋은 영화고 제목이 길긴 하지. 그런데 영화를 말할 때는 ‘Movie Name' 보다는 ‘Title’이라고 말하는 게 좋아.)
